Spinach Beet

 

Sow in 38cm (15") rows 10cm (4") apart from April to August. Easy to grow, with few pests except in the early stages when slugs may attack.

PERPETUAL SPINACH
Produces an abundance of tasty green leaves over a long cutting period. Does not readily go to seed in dry soils.

SWISS CHARD (SILVER or SEA KALE)
The long, thick white mid-ribs and green leaves can be cooked separately.

RHUBARB CHARD
Red stemmed version of above, highly decorative as well as edible.

BRIGHT LIGHTS
A multi-coloured, highly attractive Swiss Chard, containing a good mixture of colours. A nutritious and novel vegetable.
