Sow earlies in 23cm
(9") rows or maincrop in 30cm (1ft) rows, as thinly as possible. Sowings
can be made successionally from March to August for earlies and April to June
for maincrop. Pests and other problems are as for most other brassicas.

A popular yellow
fleshed turnip. Remains firm and palatable over a long period.
GOLDEN BALL
Globe shaped with
tender yellow flesh and small tops.
SNOWBALL
A small quick growing
variety with white skin and solid flesh.
PURPLE TOP MILAN
White fleshed, quick
to mature. Suitable for early sowing under cloches, or successional sowing
later.
VIETCH’S RED GLOBE
Red topped skin with
sweet white flesh. This variety should be sown successionally for best results.
Harvest when tennis ball size.
MARKET EXPRESS F1
Hybrid
Approximately 50 days
to maturity from sowing. Use the roots when small and succulent and the leaves
in salads. Ideal for successional sowing.
